The Honda World Motocross team is looking forward to this weekend’s race at the picturesque Matterley Basin track in Winchester, UK for round 13 of the MX1 World Championship.
This famous track has a mixture of natural terrain and manmade obstacles, which means this weekend’s Grand Prix of Great Britain is set to be a great event. With Honda Europe being based in the UK, it’s an important race for the Honda World Motocross team, which will be looking to reap strong results.
Following on from another strong performance at the Czech Republic Grand Prix just under two weeks ago, where he finished sixth overall, Rui Gonçalves will be looking to make it four strong races on the bounce at the British event. Last year Gonçalves finished sixth in the opening moto, but after running in the top five he struggled in the second moto re-run and finished 14th with cramps and loss of energy. The Portuguese star will certainly be looking to put that right this year and aiming for two solid motos.
Evgeny Bobryshev missed the race last year after a collision in a Belgian Championship race, which left the Russian with an injury ruling him out of the British Grand Prix. Bobryshev is no stranger to the track though, having raced there at the Motocross of Nations in 2006, and is keen to put on a good show for his British fans, many of which came to knew him during his British title winning year in 2010.
