Do you think you have what it takes to be an automotive journalist? Running around the country to events like the New York International Auto Show taking pictures and writing about cars seems like a pretty cushy job, doesn't it?

Try doing that with the pressure of impending deadlines, overbearing editors and the constant fight for the best angle on the 2012 Nissan GT-R with an unruly mob of sharp-elbowed writers and photographers. Now imagine that strain on three hours of sleep and a steady diet of bad coffee and worse buffet. Still sound like your cup of tea? Then Nissan has a contest with your name on it.

The makers of the green-as-envy Leaf and the world-beating GT-R are looking for one lucky customer to live the fast-paced automotive journalist lifestyle at this year's New York Auto Show. To enter, post a video of yourself discussing the most innovative feature on your Nissan to the manufacturer's Facebook page by April 12.

The winner will get an expenses-paid trip to New York for the press days at this year's show. That means exclusive in-person looks at the 2012 Nissan GT-R, the Murano CrossCab and Nissan's promised all-new compact car. The contest is open to anyone who thinks they can handle the strain that is automotive journalism. If you can wake up at 6 a.m., stay on your feet until 2 a.m. and still manage to get an automotive honcho to stop dodging your knife-edged questions, the game is yours.

The contest opened April 1, so if you haven't shot your video yet, your behind schedule with a fast-approaching deadline. Pull a winning video together by April 12, and you'll be spending April 19-21 rubbing elbows with the automotive elite and, well... the likes of us. Miss the due date and you'll have to settle for watching the action from your couch. Fire up your camera and get moving, but not before you read all the details in the press release after the break.
