Law enforcement officers go through quite a few vehicles every year. The very nature of their line of work almost ensures a quick turnover rate among police vehicle fleets, and the video after the jump provides a fine lesson in why that is. An officer in Tigard, Oregon was in the process of responding to a call when they came upon a vehicle in their lane. Thinking that the driver had come to a stop and was waiting to allow the officer to pass, the officer moved into the oncoming lane. That's when the civilian decided to make a left turn, ruining everyone's day in the process.
The officer glanced off of the turning vehicle and ricocheted into a nearby home. No one was seriously injured in the incident, though the driver of the offending sedan was cited for failing to yield. Hit the jump to check out the clip for yourself.
